Creator tier lists love flashy premiums. War Thunder rewards expected value: penetration you can trust, a gun you can aim, and a lineup you can rebuild after you die.
How should you define S-tier in War Thunder?
S-tier means the best expected value across a hundred Ground RB and Air RB fights — not the vehicle that looks strongest in a custom battle. Mid-range tanks win many of the fights that actually decide matches: 400–800 meters through ridgelines and town streets.
A plane that climbs well and still turns enough to finish a wounded target is usually more valuable than a one-trick interceptor. Always re-check live values after patches on War Thunder.
Lineup rules that beat highlight reels
Bring a backup with similar BR. One premium does not make a lineup. If your first spawn dies, you need a second tank that still contests the same map.
